CONCEPT OF MURNI

I am choosing different subjects and take care that I slowly come away from my usual themes: sexual organs. I more and more want to follow the direction of choosing subjects and themes that are relayed to the problem but not so much with the visualization of these simple subjects. I more focus on actual experiences in my life that are either related to the past or even the future. I am now aware that I want to be free and independent and this is particularly difficult for a Balinese, where the female as such is still heavily discriminated. It is clear, that this desire also reflect in my work.
It is my strong desire to fight more for the rights of the woman in Bali and Indonesia ? that?s how my modest contribution with my art should be seen. If my work contributes to only avoid one case of children abuse, then my mission is justified.
For TANGANNYA HILANG (LOSING HANDS)?
Once I dreamed taking a walk in my garden with my children, having a fun and telling them about life. I said to them, open your eyes and your heart, look at this taft world. I told them how to stand by their own in facing this life, don?t even rely on others, that is a hope of a mother.
For NAIK KUDA BERLARIAN (RIDING RUNNING HORSES)..
I?ve got romantic stories with my boyfriend this year. I am too excited that I feel this world belongs to just the two of us.
For KEMBARANKU I (MY TWIN I)?
I saw a girl in Yogya whose face is very similar with me. I got surprised to this.
For MEMORY?
Uppsss?I don?t need to describe this painting since I am sure you will be able to imagine what I did with my boyfriend at that time
For BABI GULING (SUCKLING PIG)?
Suckling pig is my favourite food so it becomes my inspiration.
