Galungan is one of the biggest holiday of the Hinduism in Bali.
It comes once in six months on the day of Budha Kliwon Dunggulan (depend on the Balinese Calendar).
That is the day of the Hinduism in Bali to celebrate the winning of Dharma (a good spirit) against Adharma (a bad spirit).

Gaya Fusion will be closed for one day on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 to give a chance to the staff to celebrate the Galungan Day.
We will be opened as usual on Thursday, August 21st, 2008.

We do apologize for any inconvenience caused.

If Suklu were a peanut, he would not be one of
those peanuts that forgets its skin. ?I want to
be a farmer,? he says. ?I want a farmer?s way
of responding to materials and objects.?

Not a farmer from 2008, but rather one of the
ancient ones, perhaps half-mythical, perhaps
real. One of the farmers who made art in the
everyday?sculptures in the form of
scarecrows; landscaped rice terraces;
sculpted ladles and plates and bowls and
water scoops out of coconuts, tongs out of
bamboo, or cheese graters from duri plants;
complex installations out of wind-powered
soundmakers; or performance art within Bali?s
religious-animist ceremonies.

NEW TOTEMS FOR MOTHER

Opening: May 02nd, 2008 at 07.00 PM

Wayan Kun Adnyana, perform an exhibition exactly just on the day of anniversary 100th National Awakening Day with the titled ?New Totems for Mother?, an artist who studying at postgraduate program at Institute Seni Indonesia (Indonesian Arts Institute) Yogyakarta, in respect an expression to mother. The arrangement expression is in countable tens of new totems, with objects on canvas or other artworks material. Mother is kind of given life for living, mother is also the earth itself. In which while we are in the way to awakening life resurrection, first, of all we should honestly deep in the heart respected our mother.

The exhibition continues until June 02nd, 2008.

FORBIDDEN ZONE

A solo exhibition by Krisna Murti.

Opening: Saturday, April 05th, 2008 at 07.00 Pm

In ?Forbidden Zone?, Krisna Murti tries to map or reconstruct the identity passed down by the Dutch colonial discourse whilst reinterpreting the concept of landscape. Murti?s exhibition also reflects the artists personal experiences with regard to the question of identity. He supposes that the landscape in ?Forbidden Zone? is only a small portrait of a broader cultural position or collective identity. It is an attempt by a Balinese-Indonesian artist to understand his own reality. It seems that in fact we the Indonesian people have yet to really discuss and understand this reality.

The exhibition will continues until April 23rd, 2008
